Hello. I am Gail Zona. I have a passion for history, early cultures, and travel as they teach me about the cultures and people we have all evolved from. As I travel the world, I like to collect masks from the areas I visit. They remind me of the peoples and practices of those regions. Here are some of my masks that I have collected.

Hawaiian mask with geckos |

Canadian totem pole mask |

Zulu mask | I also enjoy gardening and music as they teach me patience, bring me joy and remind of a world outside the one I work in. Coaxing a beautiful flower from a tiny seed and listening to a symphony from the opening movement to closing notes help me realize the beauty and joy in nature and in things man-made. I have lived and worked in many places starting in Austin, Texas to Evansville, Indiana and then to Honolulu and Switzerland and finally to Boston where I have lived since 1989. I currently make my home in Newburyport, Massachusetts where I live with my husband, Bill.
I see the world from both a left-brain view and a right-brain view. In my left-brain world, I am a Vice-President of Software at NewRiver, Inc., www.newriver.com. I manage software engineers and other technical folks.

My left-brain world also includes my business coaching company, Next Step Business, www.nextstepbiz.com. I coach micro-entrepreneurs on a regular basis helping them focus on the important things, and take that next, all important, step in the growth of their company.

My right-brain world loves color and design. So I keep it happy with designing jewelry using glass, metal, and stone. My company is gdesign, www.gdesignontheweb.com, where you will find my latest collection for sale. I design my own glass beads. The one to the right is called a Sticky IcingTM bead because it looks like it had sticky icing drizzled all over it.
